I read a book recently about a family with ten children from Defiance, Ohio. The father was a drunk and the mother helped supplement the family income by entering contests. Many of the contests were, “In 25 words or less tell us why…. “You like our peanut butter.” Whatever the contest was that week, she would enter. The entire family would get involved by finding entrance forms for every contest possible and finding labels that needed to be attached to the entrance forms. Mom would fill out multiple contest forms with all the kids names on the forms to increase her families chances of winning. Over the years the family won dozens of prizes. Two prizes were cars and the last prize was valued at more than $10,000 dollars. The thing that I find so interesting is the families last contest won, saved their home from getting foreclosed with just hours to spare. I believe this family knew their mom could win this contest. With the power of the entire family believing this miracle would happen, it became a reality. With God nothing is impossible. Their inner belief system created what seemed an impossibility. Nothing is a coincidence in the eyes of God. Albert Einstein said, “Your imagination is a preview of what is to come.”

Written Affirmations
A great way to keep your affirmation at the forefront of your mind is to write them down. Leave notes or cards around so that you notice them throughout the day. Another idea is to write your affirmation down many times. This helps imprint it on your mind. I like to write my affirmations on 3X5 cards so I can read them, or say them in my mind several times a day.
Say Affirmations with Passion
Say your affirmations with passion; the higher your emotional state as you say them, the more effective they are. When I was trying to sell my home I got my family together in the living room and we all jumped up and down saying how excited we were to be moving. We moved four days later.
Here are a few examples of affirmations you can use. Make some of your own. The possibilities are endless.
Affirmations of health
• Every cell in my body vibrates with energy and health.
• My body heals quickly and easily.
Affirmations for Abundance
• I prosper wherever I turn and I know that I deserve prosperity of all kinds.
• I pay my bills with love as I know abundance flows generously through me.
Affirmations for Love
• I know that I deserve Love and accept it now.
• I give out Love and it is returned to me daily.
Affirmations for Weight Loss
• I am the perfect weight for me.
• I choose to exercise and eat healthy regularly.
Affirmations for Self Esteem
• When I believe in myself, so do others.
• I express my needs and feelings effectively.
Affirmations for Joy and Happiness
• Life is a joy filled with delightful surprises.
• I choose to be happy and share my joy with others daily.
My Favorite affirmation covers many areas.
• Thank you, I am sorry, please forgive me, I love you, I am receiving now.
The reason I love this last affirmation is it covers many areas of my life. First when you say, “Thank you” this opens up the universe to many possibilities. Next when you say, “ I am sorry” and “Please forgive me,” it helps release any negatives from the past. When you say, “I love you,” this is one of the most powerful emotions you can say. When you finish with “I am receiving now,” you are telling yourself and the universe you are ready to receive everything positive into your life. Any word or emotion connected with I AM is magnified many times, so watch how you use this statement. You can also be very creative in writing your own affirmations.
One Students Triumph
I love my job because everyday I get to serve others. I work with teachers and children at an elementary school. I thrive on making this world a better place, because I am always looking for ways to serve. I love interacting with the students each day in the lunchroom and helping teachers.
Most kids are looking for validation. A few years ago a student came up to me saying, “I just picked up some garbage on the floor, so what do I get for doing that?” I get this question a lot. Then I had a moment of inspiration when I said, “The more kind things you do for others the bigger your aura will be.” Then I continued to explain that everyone has an invisible light around them and the more you do for others the bigger your light will be.
His eyes lit up with excitement when I told him, “He had a big aura because he liked doing nice things for others.” A few days went by when he asked me, “What is the name of that light again?” I told him and he got excited as he picked up a piece of paper on the floor in the lunchroom. At the end of the year this student won a bike for being one of eight students who had improved the most in academics that year. It was fun to see him raising his arms in triumph knowing he did a great job in school.
Another way I experience small moments of joy is when I see parents take charge of their children’s lives with encouraging healthy eating, exercise, and removing harmful prescription drugs from their daily routine, using essential oils when possible. Something as simple as peppermint or lemon essential oil can be life changing. When you see kids that have signs of ADHD using a focus blend, and vetiver essential oils, who are now focusing in school, this is a huge victory.
The Battle of Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two “wolves” inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith”. “The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Turmeric – Wellness Gold
If you love Indian food, you recognize the rich, deep-yellow color found in any modern Indian curry dish. Tumeric has been a go-to item for thousands of years in India, China and Indonesia, not only as a food and a dye, but also as a curative herb. While the use of Tumeric dates back to the 7th century, the herb’s natural healing ability continues to gather attention as modern sientific research validates its potency and popularity among modern wellness advocates in Asia, Europe and North America.
Found primarily in Soutern Asia, turmeric is a perennial plant and member of the ginger family. Fully grown, it reaches heights of five to six feet and boasts deep, dark yellow trumpet shaped flowers. However, it’s the root of the plant that boiled, dried and ground into that familiar yellow powder.
Historically, holistic medicine dictated the use of turmeric for a long list of…

The Twin Study
There have been studies on twins as children and how their environment reflects who they become as adults. There were twin brothers who grew up in a home with an alcoholic father. One grew up to become an alcoholic like his father. The other one grew up sober and very successful in his community. The alcoholic twin was asked why are you the way you are? His response was I grew up with an alcoholic father, so that’s the reason I am the way I am. The other twin was asked why he was so successful. He responded with “my father was an alcoholic, so I promised myself I would never become like my father.” It all comes down to attitude.
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact attitude has on our life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, education, money, circumstances, failures, successes, and what other people think, or say, or do. It is more important than appearance, our talents or skills. It will make or break a company, a church, or a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for the day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is focus our attitude toward the positive.
Ayurvedic Proverb
Be the Best of Whatever You Are
If you can’t be a pine on the top of a hill,
Be a scrub in the valley– but be
The best little scrub by the side of the hill;
Be a bush if you can’t be a tree.
If you can’t be a bush be a bit of grass,
And some highway happier make;
If you can’t be a trout then just be a bass–
But be the liveliest bass in the lake!
We can’t all be captains, we’ve got to be crew.
There’s something for all of us here.
There’s big work to do,
and there’s lesser to do.
And the task you must do is near.
If you can’t be a highway then just be the trail.
If you can’t be the sun be a star:
It isn’t by size that you win or fail.
Be the best of whatever you are.
Douglas Malloch
One way I am my best is when I am using, and sharing, essential oils one drop, and one bottle at a time. Be the best of whatever you are, and go share it.
