Cassia-Did You Know?

Cassia-Did You KnowDid you you know Cassia is the oil of self assurance? Cassia brings pleased delight, and the ability to do things that might frighten you. It is a delightful remedy for those that show nervousness or have a lack of courage. Cassia helps people with a feeling of doubt or disbelief by replacing these feelings with self assurance. Cassia helps people in self discovery of their authentic self.

Cassia is mentioned three times directly in the Bible, and mentioned over 65 times indirectly. It is a fragrant, aromatic bark and was probably used in a powdered form, and as one of the perfumes at funerals. Cassia, like cinnamon, was used by the Romans. Cassia was recorded in one of the oldest known medical records. It was in the Ebers papyrus an ancient book that contains over 800 recipes.

Cassia is a close relative to Cinnamon, has a strong, spicy aroma that can be used in small quantities to transform any essential oil blend. Cassia has been used for thousands of years to maintain physical health and promote emotional well-being. Cassia has an unmistakable fragrance and calming properties.

Cassia is a “warming” oil that helps promote circulation while maintaining healthy immune function. It can also aid in digestion, lessen nausea, and is a great oil to diffuse during cold months due to its warming properties and spicy scent.

Due to its caustic nature, Cassia should be diluted with Fractionated Coconut Oil when applied to the skin and can be very strong when inhaled directly. When diluted, Cassia can help soothe sore, achy joints. Cassia can be used in cooking either as a replacement for Cinnamon in pies and breads, or by itself in many different entrees and desserts.

One Students Triumph

The Bicycle VictoryI love my job because everyday I get to serve others. I work with teachers and children at an elementary school. I thrive on making this world a better place, because I am always looking for ways to serve. I love interacting with the students each day in the lunchroom and helping teachers.

Most kids are looking for validation. A few years ago a student came up to me saying, “I just picked up some garbage on the floor, so what do I get for doing that?” I get this question a lot. Then I had a moment of inspiration when I said, “The more kind things you do for others the bigger your aura will be.” Then I continued to explain that everyone has an invisible light around them and the more you do for others the bigger your light will be.
His eyes lit up with excitement when I told him, “He had a big aura because he liked doing nice things for others.” A few days went by when he asked me, “What is the name of that light again?” I told him and he got excited as he picked up a piece of paper on the floor in the lunchroom. At the end of the year this student won a bike for being one of eight students who had improved the most in academics that year. It was fun to see him raising his arms in triumph knowing he did a great job in school.

Another way I experience small moments of joy is when I see parents take charge of their children’s lives with encouraging healthy eating, exercise, and removing harmful prescription drugs from their daily routine, using essential oils when possible. Something as simple as peppermint or lemon essential oil can be life changing. When you see kids that have signs of ADHD using a focus blend, and vetiver essential oils, who are now focusing in school, this is a huge victory.

My Challenge to Stay Focused

Image

If any of you know me I have a hard time sitting for long periods of time without getting drowsy or even falling a sleep. As a regular church goer I found myself in this situation most weeks sitting in church. The heart and mind were willing to stay awake and focused, yet the body was weak. I would doze off to sleep often on the hard pew benches.

All through Elementary, Junior High, and High School I struggled with learning partly due to my inability to focus. I also was developmentally behind most kids my age, because it was discovered I couldn’t see very well when I went in for my kindergarten check-up. Most subjects in school were painfully hard for me, and almost unbearable to do school assignments. Homework was also a nightmare for me and my family, becoming an all night project.

Now that I have painted this picture of my inability to focus you might find it interesting to know that I became an Eagle Scout. If it wasn’t  for my sister, Ramona, and my parents I don’t think this accomplishment would have happened. My dad was the scout master, and my mom was great at knowing what I needed to do, My sister was great at helping me with my merit badges.

I went to my first essential oil convention in 2012, and was thrilled when they introduced a new essential oil  blend  used to help you focus. I was so excited to see if this oil really works so I rubbed some on the back of my neck before church, It worked. I stayed a wake.

How I wish I had this oil when I was a struggling young student. Any chance I get now, I like to share this new discovery of essential oils with others. Best of all there are no side effects. ADHD kids may now have a new alternative to powerful drugs with bad side effects. This essential oil is a great new friend for everyone who needs help staying focused.
