Several months ago I noticed a couple of bumps on my chest. Just large enough to be slightly concerned, but not overly excited about. I thought I would try rubbing some essential oils on the bumps to see what would happen. I mixed 8 drops frankincense and 3 drops each of, helichrysum, juniper berry, thyme, geranium and lavender into a 15ml bottle. Then I filled the rest of the bottle up with fractionated coconut oil.
I didn’t think much about it. I started rubbing this mixture on the bumps on my chest as part of my daily routine when I would get out of the shower. We all have many routines that we do, that become muscle memory. That’s what started to happen with me.
One day as I was going through the motions I stopped to feel my chest where the bumps were. I had to really search the area on my chest to find the bumps. I have the slightest bumps that have dramatically reduced in size. I have no idea if these bumps could have posed a threat. I am grateful to have tools in my medicine cabinet that are natural, without harmful side effects that prescription drugs have.
Anti-Inflammatory means an agent that alleviates inflammation.
Basil Essential Oil

Helichrysum Essential Oil
Helichrysum is great for regenerative effects, can be used without dilution for most people. No first aide kit should be without this oil.
Lavender Essential Oil

The Geranium essential oil is a natural cleanser. It can be used directly onto the skin for cleaning or added to the water for bathing. You can have healthy radiant skin both ways. The astringent properties of geranium are also very beneficial for our skin. Our muscle contractions get significantly boosted with these. Consequently, we get a firm and toned look.
2 Tablespoons coconut oil
2 Tablespoons shea butter
1 Tablespoon jojoba oil
1 tbsp. beeswax granules
1 tbsp. zinc oxide powder (optional)
½ tsp. red raspberry seed oil
½ tsp. carrot seed oil
Add one drop of each essential oil of your choice. Geranium, lavender, rosemary, and or peppermint all work well.
1. Using a double boiler (or a small pan over very low heat), melt your coconut oil, sesame or jojoba oil, beeswax, and shea butter together. The beeswax will be the last to melt.
2. When the beeswax is melted, remove the mixture from the heat and let cool to room temperature. If you’re using zinc oxide, whisk it in at this point, being careful not to create a lot of dust. If there are some lumps, that’s OK. They will break up when you whip the body butter in step 4.
3. Move the mixture to the fridge for 15-30 minutes. You want it to start to set up, but still be soft enough to whip.
4. Take the mixture out of the fridge and using a stand mixer or hand mixer, start to whip it. Slowly add in the red raspberry seed oil, the carrot seed oil, and any essential oils of your choice, and continue whipping until the mixture is light and fluffy.
5. Use as you would any regular sunscreen. Application rates will depend on your activity and exposure to water. Store in a glass container in the fridge between uses.
