There are moments in life when moving forward feels harder than it should. Plans fall apart. Relationships become complicated. Something we counted on disappears. Sometimes we simply wake up tired of carrying what yesterday handed us.
In those moments, we may wish someone would come along and put everything back together. But life doesn’t always work that way. Sometimes the next step belongs to us.
Picking yourself up doesn’t mean pretending nothing happened. It doesn’t mean ignoring disappointment, pain, or frustration. It means acknowledging where you are and deciding that this moment will not be the end of your story.
And carrying on doesn’t have to mean making some enormous change. Often, it is surprisingly ordinary. Get out of bed. Take the walk. Make the phone call. Finish one small task. Apologize when you need to. Forgive when you can. Try again tomorrow.
There is strength in those small decisions.
Wild Orange seems particularly fitting for this reminder. Its bright, familiar aroma can bring a sense of freshness and optimism to a room. It doesn’t erase the difficult things in life, and it doesn’t need to. Sometimes a pleasant aroma, a little quiet, and a few minutes to collect our thoughts are enough to remind us that the day still holds possibilities.
Life will knock us down occasionally. That part is unavoidable. What matters is what happens afterward.
We don’t have to have everything figured out before we move forward. We don’t have to feel completely ready. We simply have to begin.
Pick yourself up.
Take the next step.
And carry on.
